ZFS Internals (PDF version)

Hello there! I’m publishing a compilation of my blog posts from the ZFS Internals series. This first draft has 9 parts, and i hope to add more material soon. You are welcome if you want to participate (feedback, critics, comments, material, anything)… so we can have something like a “notepad” about this wonderful piece of software. I’m curious about the OpenSolaris (ZFS, Dtrace, and etc) future (like many around the world), so i would ask for registration to download the PDF, but that sucks. :-) Well, i did realize i could just ask for a comment from anyone that download it, so i can have a little notion about the interest of the people on this work.
ZFS Internals series was used to be a great hit on my blog, and very popular. As i think could not be different, the page views on that topic on my site were increasing over time (hope as OpenSolaris/ZFS technology adoption). That is changing right now…
I do participate in some projects/ug/communities on opensolaris.org, and it’s clear the drop of motivation, and participation from new users (what i think is the fuel for the future). I’m seeing this on my blog (specifically the OpenSolaris related work). OHAC community for instance, i did send some emails on the list without response, and did send some emails for people i think are my friends first of all. No answer. Well, as a contributor for this community, i’m totally blind. What other, new, users would think?
We have a promise for a new OSOL release, that has no date, and no news about the project colorado. All the projects that are not part of the ON, are a much bigger problem… well, but that is not the main subject of this post…
